A GOAL each side of the break resulted in Hereford Pegasus beating Storm Bert and Cirencester Town 2-0 in the Hellenic League Premier Division at the KGD Stadium.
The visitors had the first opportunity of the afternoon when Jordon Morris fired a low 25 yard drive straight at Jenson Kilroy in the Pegasus goal.
Pegasus responded in the ninth minute courtesy of Isaac Cooper's 20-yard free-kick before Harrison Reeves was played through on goal 60 seconds later but pulled his effort wide from the edge of the penalty area.
Pegasus defender Florjet Vucaj saw his 13th minute header come back off the woodwork from a cross on the left before Jamie Price dragged his effort wide from the edge of the penalty area 10 minutes later.
Cirencester also had their openings and Ross Gabriel headed wide from a 29th minute cross before Centurions skipper Aiden Bennett fired narrowly over the crossbar from 25 yards less than a minute later.
Bennett then pounced on an error in the home defence in the 41st minute but directed his ensuing shot wide of the far post.
In one of the few games to go ahead in the county on Saturday, it was Pegasus who broke the deadlock on the stroke of the interval when Will Dalloway's low 25 yard was parried by the visiting custodian Ronnie Newbury and Pitman was on hand to turn the loose ball into the net.
The Reds nearly doubled their advantage six minutes after the break when Connor Deards' close-range effort was deflected wide.
Pitman's 25 yard free-kick was deflected behind for another corner in the 54th minute before Cooper drilled his low shot straight at Newbury.
Having dominated the early stages of the second half the hosts doubled their lead on 63 minutes when Cooper's cross caused some confusion in the Centurions' defence and Jordan Williamson headed home from close-range.
Williamson had the chance to double his tally three minutes later but his chip over the advancing Newbury narrowly drifted wide of the target.
Cirencester Town were denied a consolation goal in the 79th minute when the officials deemed that substitute Jack Horrell's header had not crossed the line after hitting a post before.
At the opposite end Cooper's 86th minute drive from the edge of the penalty area was parried by Newbury before Williamson was played through on goal two minutes later but directed his effort wide of goal.
