After days of poor weather, the Bourton Half Marathon went ahead under clear skies.
The race, hosted by Greystones Nature Reserve in the town, went ahead with dry conditions despite several other nearby races cancelling due to flooding.
Ben Kruze from Stratford took the lead of the race from the start, finishing in one hour, 12 minutes, and 19 seconds.
Josh Beech of Abingdon AC followed in second place with a time of 1:14:33, and Rob Green of CLC Striders, Cheltenham, came in third at 1:14:56.
Chelsea Baker from Bristol & West AC was the first woman to cross the finish line, clocking in at 1:25:10.
Emily Chandler of Stroud & District AC and Amber Bullingham of Weston Tempo followed her in second and third place, respectively.
Despite most Roadrunners club members being busy supervising the event, four managed to compete.
Graham Lane had an impressive run, earning a silver medal in the male vet-70 category for the Gloucestershire AAA County Championships, with a time of 1:52:38.
Jaq Underwood finished in 1:54:26, taking fourth place in the LV50 category.
Basia Legierska and Liz Hulcup also brought home silver medals for Bourton in the LV40 and LV70 categories, respectively.
Hulcup kindly ran as the "tail runner", ensuring everyone finished safely, with a time of 2:42:51.
Among the participants, Robin Stroud from Winchcombe, an NHS worker, stood out as he ran in a shirt and trousers, finishing the course in two hours and 40 minutes.
A group of young men also caught attention as they started the race 20 minutes late, reportedly due to a bet.
They were escorted by a race official until they caught up with the tail runners, finishing the last mile in six minutes and 35 seconds.
On the same day, Bourton’s Pat Gill took part in the Loch Ness Marathon in Scotland, finishing in four hours, 28 minutes, and 15 seconds.
The day before, three club members participated in the Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge, a 50 kilometre trail run.
Three Roadrunners managed to find park runs despite the inclement weather, with Chris Dry at King George V Playing Field in Cheltenham, Linda Edwards at Woolacombe Dunes and Susan Hunt at Wycombe Rye.
