Over 30 Bourton Roadrunners athletes were in action at a scenic 10-kilometre race in a Cirencester estate parkland.

The park provided the backdrop for the Cirencester Summer Sizzler, with 31 club members taking part and several others in support.

Four of the runners claimed age-category prizes.

First of all, whilst not picking up any prizes, Danny Hannig finished seventh overall with a time of 36 minutes and nine seconds.

Niamh Shoemark finished first in the FV55 category with a time of 42 minutes and 41 seconds.

Other prize winners included Dougal Hamilton-Smith, first junior man (42:59); Steph Holton, first FV60 (48:11); and Graham Lane, first MV70 (49:26).

Just three days on from taking part in the race, Claire Cox took on the daunting Race to the King 100km.

Cox, with the motto of "being her own hero" spurring her on, completed the gruelling event in 12 hours and 11 minutes, ranking fifth among the women runners.

In Cheltenham, the Running Festival with a variety of distance options.

Dougal Hamilton-Smith braved the 5 kilometre event and came 11th with a swift finish time of 20 minutes and 29 seconds.

John Harding, ran the 10 kilometre event with his children, marking Father's Day with a time of 59 minutes and 21 seconds.

Claire Carroll ran in the Fun Run, dressed as Winston Bear for Winston's Wish charity, finishing in 13 minutes and 11 seconds with Louise Hamilton-Smith.

Travelling to Worcestershire, Jenny Evanson completed her second run of the week.

She finished the Redditch 10km with a time of 79 minutes and 40 seconds.

As per usual, several Roadrunners took on a parkrun with Edward Hare being the highlight as he finished first overall at Chipping Norton School in a time of 19 minutes and four seconds.
