MALMESBURY boxer Denham Jobling proved he can mix it with the best as he claimed the National ABA Junior title at the weekend.
Earlier this season, Jobling won the National ABA Youth title, and on Sunday, despite moving up a weight category, he added the Junior title to his growing trophy cabinet.
He faced Nathan Loveridge from Leighton Town boxing, an opponent who turned out to be his toughest to date.
Loveridge had a great first round, coming out strongly and catching Jobling with some good shots to put himself in the lead.
But after the bell for the second, Jobling started to come back into the bout and he pulled back several points to reduce the deficit on the scoreboard.
He went into the third round knowing he needed to be at his best and he delivered, catching his opponent with numerous hooks and he was able to built up a strong lead to get the eventual decision.
He remains unbeaten and is now a two-time champion at different weights. A very talented boxer with a promising career ahead of him.
