MALMESBURY Amateur Boxing Club now has its own van to transport fighters to and from events up and down the country.
A sizeable donation from Malmesbury League of Friends - an organisation that provides funds to help local people with specific medical needs - helped secure the funding needed to finally purchase the 'Battle Bus' as the club are calling it.
The Boxing Club have been fundraising for two years to make this happen but has also received financial assistance from local charitable organisations and other committees in the town, as well as pumping a fair bit of their own money into it.
A club statement released on Facebook, said: "A huge thank you to Malmesbury League of Friends who made significant donations towards the purchase of our new Battle Bus. (pictured is David Hide of MLOF).
"We were also massively helped by our own financial guru, Harriet Mallinson, putting in lots of work in her own time to write applications on our behalf.
"The consequence is a vehicle that will get our boxers to shows across the country . Thank you from all of us to everyone involved in helping us achieve this."
