IT was another victorious afternoon for Fairford on Saturday as they maintained their title charge with a 20-13 win at Swindon 2XV.
It was an incredibly tight game of rugby in tricky conditions but league leaders Fairford came out on top thanks to tries from Sam Filmer, Harri Cummings and Keelan Little.
Cummings added a conversion and a penalty to his personal tally of 10 points as the visitors gained an invaluable victory in their bid to win the Counties 3 Tribute Dorset & Wilts North title.
Fairford are now six points clear of second-placed Chippenham 3XV, with a game in hand, after nine league games. Six remain in the 2023/24 campaign and Fairford will be heavily fancied to go on and secure the championship, as well as promotion to Counties 2.
Elsewhere in the division, there was only one other game and Chippenham kept their hopes alive of catching Fairford with a thumping 81-5 win at home to Swindon College Old Boys 2XV.
This week, Fairford make the trip to Cricklade whilst second plays third when Chippenham go to Swindon.
