BOURTON Roadrunners took to the Fairford 10K event in scorching conditions last weekend.
Sunday brought one of the hottest days of the year so far, yet many runners were determined to support the annual event.
In-form Niamh Shoemark led the Bourton Roadrunners’ participants home in a time of 45 minutes and 7 seconds, claiming the prize for first LV55.
She was followed by Graham Lane (51:16), John Harding (52:35), Gill Carrick (55:48 and 3rd LV55), Noelle Morgan (62:23), Louise Hamilton-Smith (62:40), Val McKay (76:09) and Jenny Evanson (78:16)
Meanwhile, on Saturday club members could be found supporting various Park Run events, including:
Witney Park Run:
Derek Darby (20:33), Tim Hemming (21:40), Lorna Shawcross (26:43), Gill Carrick (28:35) and Val McKay (34:26).
The occasion also marked the successful completion of the club’s couch-to-5K programme by Lin Cook (33:28 – a PB), John Conway (34:35), Sarah Castle (39:06) and Nick Fox who achieved a brilliant 45:17 and was joined by Shirley Creed and John Gibson (45:18)
Gorey District Park Run:
Barry O’Leary (25:23)
Evesham Park Run:
Tony Goodwill (25:23)
Chipping Norton Park Run:

Although, Tighe would have been quicker; however, she had stopped to assist a fellow lady runner who had taken a tumble on the way around – well done to her!
