MALMESBURY went down by 55 runs in their Division 1 clash away at Trowbridge 2XI last weekend.
Trowbridge's Ryan Salter found the boundary 27 times in total - 22 fours and 5 sixes - as he racked up a huge 169 runs off just 110 balls.
Malmesbury struggled to take wickets and in the end, the hosts only lost four of them as they posted 311/4 inside just 45 overs.
That included a 108-run partnership between the openers Salter and Hayden Lloyd (33), as well as a 137-run partnership for Salter and Tony Burrows (42).
In response to the big score, Malmesbury were always going to have to chase and they put up a decent effort in the end before eventually falling short.
Michael Collison hit 13 fours in a 67-run knock batting at number four, whilst Rizwan Quadri was out just a run short of a half-century with 49 off 45 at number five.
Josh Langley was eager to give it a go when he came to the crease, scoring 41 runs off just 22 balls, including 6 fours and 1 six, but once he was out, the tailenders combined for just six runs in total as the innings came to an end in the 41st over.
As for the Malmesbury 2XI, they were also up against Trowbridge and unfortunately for them, it was a heavy defeat by 10 wickets.
Having been put into bat, Malmesbury were bowled out for just 124 runs, with Adam Morgan (24) the only player to reach the 20s.
In response, Trowbridge's openers didn't need any assistance as they both score half centuries to reach the target without loss inside just 23 overs.
