GOTHERINGTON beat Rockhampton in a bowl out to reach the Gloucestershire group quarter-finals of the Voneus Village Cup.
No play was possible for a second consecutive weekend because of the wet conditions, hence the need to find a winner in a competition which runs on a tight and strict schedule.
And it was Gotherington who eased through via the dreaded bowl out – all 11 players having one delivery at a full set of stumps – after winning 2-1 and booking a home date on Sunday against Kingsholm who had a walkover against Cam.
Also into the last eight are Winterbourne who saw off Frocester by 22 runs in a 30-over contest.
Opener Soban Irfan (80 off 90, seven fours and three sixes) and Ahmed Tabraiz (40) led the charge to a total of 173-4.
And left-arm quick Tabraiz followed up with a devastating opening burst of 3-14 from six to help reduce Frocester’s reply to 49-6.
The home side steadied the ship through Rhys Lamplugh (47 not) and Jock Catto (25) before eventually being dismissed for 141 in the final over.
Winterbourne will now be home on Sunday to Marshfield with the other two ties seeing Almondsbury host Apperley and Painswick entertain Frampton-on-Severn.
Holders Dumbleton open their bid to reach Lord’s for a second successive summer with a trip on Sunday to Hagley in the Worcestershire group, and in Oxfordshire Langford visit Tiddington.
Bristol side Stapleton, meanwhile, travel on Sunday to Wembdon in the Somerset & Avon group.
