GLOUCESTERSHIRE opener Marcus Harris has been named in the Australia squad for this year's Ashes series that begins in the summer. 

Pat Cummins will lead the 17-man squad with Steve Smith as his deputy, while opener Harris, all-rounder Mitch Marsh and Inglis are recalled.

Harris was dropped from the final test of the 2022 Ashes squad last year after averaging 29.83 in seven innings against England.

But he will now be looking to prove some of the doubters wrong when the Ashes gets underway in June. 

Having made his Test debut in 2018, the 30-year-old’s reselection for Australia comes after he scored 59 and 148 vs Glamorgan for Gloucestershire in the opening match round of the LV= Insurance County Championship Division Two, earlier this month.

Harris will be available to play in all of Gloucestershire’s remaining County Championship matches in April and May, before linking up with captain Pat Cummins and the rest of the Australia squad.
