HEAD Coach Dale Benkenstein will miss Gloucestershire’s opening County Championship on Thursday with Glamorgan.
Benkenstein has returned to South Africa after a family bereavement and assistant Head Coach Will Porterfield will oversee training in the lead-up to the Glamorgan fixture before preparing the squad for Thursday’s season opener.
Benkenstein is likely to return for Gloucestershire’s first home match of the campaign against Yorkshire starting Thursday 13 April.

Who's going to be joining us in Cardiff over the next four days? 🙋♀️#GoGlos 💛🖤 pic.twitter.com/l7eoWs9Arl
Gloucestershire's season begins on the back of very little preparation, much like the rest of the counties, due to all the rain over the last two months.
Their pre-season was heavily disrupted but the season has now arrived and all focus is on the opening fixture in Cardiff for the next four days.
