Hellenic Division Two West
Newent Town Res 1-3 Bourton Rovers
ROVERS enjoyed a 3-1 win away to Newent in their opening game of the Hellenic season without a few key players but featuring new signings Simon Flower and Steve Nurse.
Harry Larner was showing signs of his talent and in the 38th minute he latched onto a through ball and calmly lifted the ball over the Newent keeper.
Rovers lead was short lived after Newent‘s man-of-the-match Sanchez Grange burst into the Rovers box and fired the ball home from close range.
Bourton went ahead again in the 60th minute after Nurse finished well inside the box. He doubled his goals for the afternoon in the 75th minute, slotting the ball into the bottom corner for 3-1 FT.
Special mention to Callum Trott for his man-of-the-match performance.
Rovers travel to Shrivenham on Saturday.
