KEN WELLS of the Cotswold Cavaliers and 10cc has won the Men's Singles title at the 2014 Butcombe British Skittles Championship.
It could have been an all-Cotswold final at the International Riviera Centre, Torquay, but Ken had to face team-mate Steve Sowter in the semi final, beating him by just one pin.
Ken, who plays on the alley at Bibury FC, had an easier time to see off his three rivals in the final.
The Cotswold teams were not so fortunate in the team event.
Both 10cc and the Cotswold Wags won their first matches but were knocked out at the quarter final stage.
However, they had done really well to qualify from more than 200 teams to get into the last 32 in the country.
Catherine Poole, who writes match reports for all the Cotswold teams, finished runner-up in the press officer competition. It is the third year in a row she has made the top three.
