HIGHWORTH rallying mother of two, Shelly Taunt, is this weekend making the long haul north for the second round of the British International Rally Championship.
The Scottish Rally, being held in and around Dumfries, covers some 500 miles.
Shelly and her co-driver Bob Stokoe will once again be looking for maximum points.
The team had finished first overall in the 1400cc championship when Shelly was first overall in the ladies' category in the Pirelli International held in April.
The Silverstone Rally School, Guest and Fiore Bricklayers Ltd, Creative Block Paving, Rapid Hire, Advanced Sign Factory, Mintex and Silkolene supported car has just competed in the Red Dragon Rally with local co-driver Andy Garrett.
This was one of the BTRDA rounds and the team felt that, due to there being a six-week gap between the international events, it would make sense for them to use it as a shakedown and for Shelly to get used to the car in the wet.
Despite changing three lower arms, the car performed well and Shelly was pleased with the day's event.
Andy says: "Conditions were extremely slippery and, at one point it was rained so hard that the car windscreen misted over so much that we couldn't see anything.
"Shelly was just relying on everything I was telling her and, despite a few 360 degree spins, I really enjoyed myself. Shelly has got a great team and a massive following and I was really happy to be part of it."
Andy will be co-driving for Shelly on the Jim Clark Rally in July as her regular co-driver, Bob Stokoe, will be unavailable.
