POLICE have confirmed a body found in a Cotswold Water Park lake is that of a man who went missing last Thursday.
Police divers discovered the body at 3.45pm on Friday following a search of Lake 14, which lasted nearly two hours.
As yet the dead person's identity remains unclear but it is known to be that of the missing 21-year-old man who lived nearby.
Police spokesman Steve Partridge confirmed the discovery of the body and added: "The body has been positively identified as that of the missing person we were seeking.
"The police investigation has been concluded and the death has not been treated as suspicious. It is now in the hands of the coroner."
The team of five divers from the Avon and Somerset Police Underwater Search Team were called to the lakes near South Cerney to help search for the man who was last seen leaving the Watermark Club At 12.30am on Thursday.
His family raised the alarm at 2.35pm the following day after it was discovered he had failed to arrive for work. His home was also found to be empty.
The body was taken to Cheltenham General Hospital and the coroner informed. The dead man's name is expected to be released by the coroner later this week.
