A well supported event saw 148 entrants from 51 clubs covering 21 counties from as far afield as Aberdeenshire to the Isle of Wight and Pembrokeshire to Lincolnshire.

Not to be outdone, the results in the women's competition were equally as good with an outstanding score of 50 securing a win for ladies' vice-captain Penny Taylor and her guest, Carol Malim from the Rolls of Monmouth GC.

Ladies' captain Sheila Marsh and Monica Woodbridge (Kings-down) were close behind in second with 48 and third with 47 came the pairing of Joyce Soutter and Gladys Upfold (Minchinhampton).
