CIRENCESTER first team followed up their Readers Glo'shire County League victory against Birdlip a week earlier with another excellent win over Cam last Saturday.
In a good team performance, they comfortably saw off the challenge of struggling rivals.
Having won the toss, Town elected to bat on what looked a relatively good surface. But with the wicket providing a lot of assistance to the early Cam bowling, the visitors struggled to 4-50.
But with Andy Walker holding firm and with the assistance of John Turton, they steered the side to 80 without further loss.
Unfortunately, with the loss of John Turton to a rather dubious caught behind for a well made 27, Town's late middle order were unable to take advantage on a difficult pitch.
With Walker eventually out for a dogged 25, Cirencester were in the precarious position of 100-9.
Then came a match winning last-wicket partnership between John Turner (13no) and young James Shackleton (21) that took the final total to 143 all out.
In reply, Cam, got off to a poor start with their open bats falling victim to James Shackleton in the second over.
This brought to the crease Cam's belligerent ex-captain who took a liking to some loose bowling.
James Shackleton, though, was not put off and, with two quick wickets including that of the ex-captain, he put Town into the driving seat.
The No 5 did his best to restore Cam fortunes with some hard hitting, but with his demise, this time to John Turner, the hosts were unable to put up any further worthwhile resistance.
It was left to Turner, who again bowled with superb accuracy to finish off the batting with four wickets and was ably supported by left-arm spinner John Turton who took three.
Cam were eventually bowled out for a paltry 79, giving the visitors a victory by 64 runs.
The Cirencester bowling was backed up by excellent and vital catching, two of which were taken by Andy Lobo and another two by James Shackleton.
They, along with John Turner, were joint men of the match.
Cirencester 143ao (J Turton 27, A Walker 25, J Shackleton 21); Cam 79ao (J Turner 4-11, J Turton 3-14, J Shackleton 3-17.
