A MEMORIAL service for a long-serving music teacher at Westonbirt School takes place on Friday Mildred Naylor died at the age of 93 just before Christmas after a brief illness.
She was director of music at the school between 1949 and 1977.
Miss Taylor was respected and popular among pupils and colleagues alike.
She encouraged many girls to go on to musical careers and instilled an appreciation of music in countless others.
She moved to Cirencester when she retired.
Until very recently she was an active member of the school's alumni organisation, the Westonbirt Association and three years ago gave a memorable piano recital at their annual reunion.
The service has been organised at the association's request and many of Miss Naylor's past pupils and colleagues are expected to attend.
The service takes place in the School Chapel at 3pm.
