A MAN is due to appear in court today in connection with the quad bike death of a 22-year-old woman who died on Christmas Day last year.

Alex Evans, aged 31, is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates Court today, Tuesday.

He is charged with three offences related to the death of Grace Vater, who died on Christmas Day following a collision in Shipton Moyne on Saturday, December 23, 2023.

Evans, of Monks Drive, Corsham, is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving while disqualified and causing death by driving without insurance.

The offences are said to have taken place in Whitehouse Lane in Shipton Moyne near Tetbury.

According to the court list, Evans was allegedly driving a red Honda quad bike at the time.

Grace, known to many as Gracie, was believed to have fallen off a quad bike which overturned on Whitehouse Lane shortly after 2pm on December 23.

She was airlifted to Southmead Hospital but died from her injuries two days later.

In a statement released after her death, her family said: "We as a family are totally devastated to have lost our beautiful darling Gracie - a treasured and much-loved daughter, sister, granddaughter and aunty.

"She was the most kind, caring and beautiful soul inside and out and would help anybody that needed her help.

“She was loved by everyone who met her.

“A country girl with the biggest heart and a huge love for animals, especially dogs, pigs and cows.

“Our lives will never be the same without her, but we take comfort in knowing that Gracie is with her beloved dad.”

More than £10,000 was raised in a fundraiser established by Gracie’s sister following her death.
