THESE pictures show the commemoration of Remembrance Sunday in a town in Wiltshire.
The day, which takes place on the second Sunday in November, is held in the UK to commemorate British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women’s contribution in World War I, World War II and later conflicts.
Ahead of Remembrance Day in Malmesbury yesterday, Sunday, November 10, Malmesbury Town Council said that a Remembrance Parade would take place from the Cross Hayes to the Upper High Street on Sunday afternoon.
This would honour fallen soldiers and serving personnel.
There was also set to be a Remembrance Service at Malmesbury Abbey in Gloucester Street.
The parade was to involve Hullavington-based 9 Regiment RLC - a regiment of the Army’s Royal Logistic Corps - as well as town councillors and the Warden & Freemen of Malmesbury.
“This will cause a very brief delay on our way to the Remembrance Service at the Abbey,” a spokesperson for the town council had said.
“We appreciate and thank you for your understanding.”
