A SMASH American TV sitcom is set to be performed onstage as a musical in Cirencester.
The Barn Theatre in Beeches Road said that Friends! The Musical Parody will open at the theatre in July next year before touring the UK and Ireland.
A website for the show said that the unauthorised comedy musical “lovingly pokes fun at TV’s Friends, celebrating the adventures of your favourite group of 20-somethings as they navigate the pitfalls of work, life and love in 1990s Manhattan”.
Favourite moments from all 10 seasons of the US sitcom, which originally aired from 1994 to 2004, are recreated in the stage show.
The Barn Theatre said that Friends! The Musical Parody will open at the venue on July 14, 2025.
It will then tour the UK and Ireland until May 2026.
It will be directed by Michael Gyngell, and full casting will be announced in due course.
Tickets will go on sale on Monday, November 4 exclusively to Barn Friends and patrons.
