GLOUCESTERSHIRE POLICE has said that an elderly woman who was reported missing from South Cerney earlier today (Friday, October 25) has been found.

In a release, the force said: "Officers have updated that 87-year-old Joan, who was reported missing from South Cerney earlier today, has been found.

"She is now receiving the appropriate support.

"Officers would like to thank the member of the public who called in to report her location after reading the appeal."

Joan, aged 87, had not been seen since 10.45am this morning (Friday, October 25) at an address in the village.

In a release, Gloucestershire Police had said that officers were growing concerned for Joan’s welfare and were asking the public to call if they had any information on her whereabouts.

Joan was described as being white, 5ft 7 in height, of a slim build and with short, white, curly hair.

It was believed that she was wearing a large blue quilted coat and was carrying a black handbag, but may not have had on any shoes.

It was believed that Joan was on foot and was still in the South Cerney area.
