Plans have been revealed for a new dealership of premium cars in Swindon as a familiar name in the town prepares to move.
Dick Lovett is preparing to apply for planning permission to move its existing BMW showroom, MINI showroom and bodyshop to a single purpose-built premises off junction 16 of the M4.
The three buildings are currently spread over Swindon in Even Swindon’s Rushey Park and Ashworth Road and Athena Avenue in Techno Trading Estate, respectively.
A Dick Lovett spokesperson said: "The new venue will be purpose-built, integrating a modern car dealership with a cutting-edge bodyshop, ensuring a superior experience for every visitor. The state-of-the-art facility has been designed with both customers and staff in mind, offering an environment that prioritises comfort, convenience, and efficiency.
“Every aspect of the new space has been tailored to provide the highest standards of service and support.
“The new site has been built with sustainability at its core. By combining the MINI and BMW showrooms and bodyshop on one site customers won’t need to drive around multiple locations in Swindon if they are shopping around and can instead shop for a range of models in one location that is also nearby to Dick Lovett’s Ferrari and Porsche showroom the other side of Junction 16.
"The plans also include significant new landscaping through tree and hedgerow planting, and the new buildings will be built with green roofs to support biodiversity and manage water run-off.“The site will also be powered in part by renewable energy from solar panels, include 18 EV charging points, and will have an effective environmental management system which will monitor electricity consumption, water and gas usage.”
