A =resident is selling what they say is a ‘very rare’ 50p coin for a staggering sum.
The coin in question is a 50 pence piece commemorating the 160th birthday of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, featuring his most famed literary creation – Sherlock Holmes.
It was minted in 2019, with the seller commenting that the coin is a ‘true gem’.

The coin was designed by Stephen Raw and features a silhouette of Sherlock Holmes smoking a pipe, surrounded by a few of Doyle's most-famous story titles.
The coin is being sold by a Warrington seller on eBay for £4,500, or best offer, with first class Royal Mail postage costing an additional £2.25.
