AN AIRPORT near Cirencester saw an incident involving a light helicopter recently.
A spokesperson for Cotswold Airport near Kemble told the Standard that a minor incident involving the helicopter took place at 12.15pm on Friday, October 11.
The aerodrome is now back open.
"Following a minor light helicopter incident at 12.15pm, the Cotswold Airport aerodrome reopened for air traffic at 2pm," the spokesperson said.
"The incident involved a single helicopter, and its sole occupant was confirmed not to have suffered any serious injuries following care from our onsite medical team.
"Our emergency services team are highly trained for such events and reacted with professionalism and efficiency.
"Thanks to all involved in the management of the incident, ensuring everyone’s safety and the rapid reopening of the aerodrome."
"Following a minor light helicopter incident, the aerodrome has now reopened," the airport said on Facebook on Friday.
Earlier, an individual had written on the social media site: "There have been a lot of police cars, an ambulance and now a fire engine passing by Watermoor Point in the last hour or so. Anyone know what's going on?"
One comment made reference to a 'crash'.
A spokesperson for the Air Accidents Investigation Branch said: "The AAIB is aware of an incident involving a small helicopter which occurred on Friday at Kemble Airfield.
"We have started an investigation."
A spokesperson for Cotswold Airport said: "It is standard practice for the AAIB to investigate all such incidents."
