A FAMILY-RUN bakery located in the area has been recognised with an impressive award.
Bourton-on-the-Water’s Bakery on the Water won a National Bakery Award for the county of Gloucestershire.
The National Bakery Awards, which took place in London on Wednesday, September 25 this year, celebrate the nation’s finest bakery businesses, showcasing their dedication to quality, innovation and customer service.
Hosted by Bakery Business magazine, the accolades celebrate the thriving bakery scene in the UK, bringing recognition to businesses that exemplify the best of the industry.
Bakery on the Water serves bread, pastries, cakes and savoury treats.
It also operates as a cafe, with customers able to enjoy their produce on the premises and outdoors on the riverside terrace.
Bakery on the Water additionally offers celebration cakes and delivers wholesale to a number of local businesses.
Owners Alex Clavel and Narda Franco acquired The Little Bakery Company - which has bakeries in Bourton as well as Burford in Oxfordshire (Bakery on the Hill) - just over a year ago.
Alex and Narda both attended the National Bakery Awards 2024 event and were thrilled to win their award.
Alex said: “We are both passionate about what we do, so to be recognised in this way is amazing.
“We have lots of ideas for the business and look forward to continuing to grow, providing our high-quality products to our customers.”
