A KEY road in Gloucestershire has been closed overnight since Monday.

National Highways said the A436 from The Air Balloon Roundabout to Ullenwood Manor Road would be closed from Monday, October 7 to Friday, October 11 from 9pm to 6am each night.

This is so National Highways can install drainage, gullies and kerbs and undertake surfacing and ducting work.

The government-owned company said there would be a diversion in place using the A417, A46, A40 and A435.

In addition, it said the stretch of the A436 would also be closed on Monday, October 14 to Friday, October 18 from 9pm to 6am each evening.

National Highways will also be closing the A417 southbound between The Air Balloon Roundabout to the The Highwayman junction overnight to repair the safety barrier.

Closures will take place from 9pm to 6am each night on Monday, October 21, Tuesday, October 22, Wednesday, October 23 and Monday, October 28.

There will be a diversion using the A436, A40 and A429.

However, National Highways noted that closures can alter at short notice.

The company added that it has now completed the five recently-advertised weekend closures to finish vital maintenance work on the A417 and A419.

This was separate from the A417 Missing Link scheme.
