A FORMER police officer with Gloucestershire Police will appear in court charged with rape and other offences.
Craig Winston, 35, was a student officer based in the Forest of Dean for Gloucestershire Police.
He has been charged with offences relating to two women.
He is due to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on Friday, October 11.
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: “Winston was suspended from duty as soon as the allegations came to light in October 2022, and he resigned from the force in February 2023.
“The case was investigated by the Constabulary’s Criminal Investigation Department with charges authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service.”
Winston faces charges including two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault by penetration and a charge of causing someone to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity without consent.
He is also accused of stalking and committing an act with intent to pervert the course of public justice.
Gloucestershire Police confirmed that the charges were allegedly committed while Winston was off-duty.
