THE MEMORIAL service of a much-loved Cirencester headteacher who recently died is to take place soon.
Muriel Paine spent over forty years as headmistress of Querns School Cirencester.
In addition, she was for four decades a member, secretary and president of Soroptimists in Cirencester as well as the founder of the Pop in for retired and old age people to meet up each week.
She was also the founder of Open the Book at Stratton School 34 years ago and a church warden of St Peter’s Stratton for 35 years.
Her son Charles previously paid tribute to the inspirational grandmother, saying: "She only had one dream and that was to teach to help children be their best and boy did she do that in total for 48 years.
"Mum always had time for people.
" One of mum's best qualities was she never judged and always looked for the good in people."
Her memorial service at St Peter’s Church in Stratton at 2pm on Friday, October 18.
All friends, former pupils and anyone who knew her are extremely welcome.
