A GLOBAL photography exhibition has been given a permanent home at a university in Gloucestershire.
We Feed The World is a photography initiative capturing the triumphs and tribulations of smallholder farmers and food-growers across six continents.
It is on permanent loan to the Royal Agricultural University, where it is on display in the teaching spaces in the Emrys Jones building at the university’s Cirencester campus.
The collection covers a range of themes from seed to soil across rural and urban landscapes as well as fishing communities.
A collaboration between arts and environment sectors, the collection of over 80 images was commissioned by The Gaia Foundation and has had 50 global exhibitions since its official opening in 2018.
Members of the public are invited to view the images and hear the story behind the exhibition from those that worked on it and its relevance to the Royal Agricultural University today, Thursday, October 3, from 6pm to 8pm at the Emrys Jones building.
Introductory talks with refreshments will start at 6pm, after which the public will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition.
There are also plans to hold a number of open days, as part of the RAU’s 180th anniversary next year, when members of the public will be able to view it.
