A 17th-century manor house hotel brings best of Bavaria to Gloucestershire with an Oktoberfest extravaganza.
A luxury manor house hotel in Stonehouse is inviting residents to enjoy bratwurst, beer and bands at its own take on Oktoberfest this weekend – but lederhosen are optional.
Hosted in the gardens of Stonehouse Court Hotel September 28, Saturday from 2pm to 9pm, the family-friendly Bavarian celebration will feature live music, activities, and a variety of hearty German food.
Free to enter, guests can enjoy a range of traditional Oktoberfest festivities including brass bands and beer steins, while there will also be inflatable axe throwing and a bratwurst eating contest.
Maz Jurko, General Manager at Stonehouse Court, said: “We’re excited to be bringing a slice of Bavaria to Stonehouse Court this weekend. In typical Oktoberfest fashion, food and drink will be flowing and live music will be playing. It promises to be a great day out for all the family, with plenty of activities and entertainment on offer.”
He continued: “Even if the weather is unfavourable, we’ll have a covered marquee up, so any downpour won’t dampen the festivities. Whether you’re coming to take part in the bratwurst eating competition or to enjoy the live music, which will include a band from 2pm to 6pm and a DJ till 9pm, we look forward to seeing you there – especially those who turn up in lederhosen!”
Oktoberfest is an annual festival in Munich, Germany, originating in 1810 in celebration of the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria. The two-week festival features large beer halls, games, amusement rides, music, and dancing, and is now celebrated globally, including at Stonehouse!
Nestled in the heart of Gloucestershire, close to Stroud, Stonehouse Court offers a tasteful blend of contemporary and traditional décor, ensuring the perfect combination of old-fashioned values with a modern twist.
