A CIRENCESTER homelessness charity has provided emergency temporary accommodation to people looking for overnight shelter amid the recent bad weather.
Cirencester Signpost founder Graham Harris said that the organisation had to face the challenges brought on by the recent rain.
Travelodge was used to provide the accommodation.
Speaking on Monday, Graham said: “The past week has been business as usual helping those who suddenly find themselves without a roof over their head.
“We have been giving emotional support as well as arranging access to hot meals, clothing and shower facilities.
‘However, the excessive rain has brought additional challenges to anyone trying to find a safe, dry space to shelter overnight, especially over the weekend when most agencies are closed.
“The right thing to do was to arrange emergency temporary accommodation, and I am grateful to those whose financially support our charity enabling us to take the lead and help those in a homeless crisis at their time of greatest need.”
