A PRIMARY SCHOOL in Cirencester is celebrating after being given another Outstanding rating by Ofsted.
Powell's Church of England Primary School was rated Outstanding in all areas, including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes and leadership and management.
The school in Gloucester Street had previously been rated as Outstanding by Ofsted in 2013.
The most recent inspection was carried out on July 9 and 10 this year.
The inspection report said: “Pupils excel at this school.
“They thrive on the ambition that all adults have for them.
“There are no barriers for pupils to achieve well, regardless of their starting points.
“Everyone is proud to belong to this school.”
It was noted in the report that inspectors examined different documentation provided by the school, including its improvement plan and self-evaluation form.
Commenting on the school’s recent rating, headteacher Helen Cooper said: “We are incredibly proud of the outcome of our Ofsted inspection.
“Everyone at Powell’s is committed to wanting the very best for our pupils.
“The children are brilliant, and it is a joy to be around them.
“Huge thanks must go to our dedicated staff team, our supportive parents and carers and our governors.
“We will continue to offer an ambitious and aspirational learning environment for all our pupils as we start the new school year.”
Ofsted said on its reports website that from this month, it is no longer making an overall effectiveness judgement in inspections of state-funded schools.
