A CIRENCESTER-BASED running club were proud to present a cheque to charity TIC+ for over four thousand pounds.
This was the highest amount raised by the club for a chosen charity.
Each year, club members from Running Somewhere Else (RSE) vote in a charity to raise funds for.
Through a combination of cake sales, quizzes and the Fairford 10k race, which RSE hosts, members raise a pot to present to the charity.
TIC+ offer services to Gloucestershire and surrounding areas, supporting children and young people with mental health and emotional well-being crises, as well as providing advice to carers and training for professionals.
The charity provides school and individual counselling, interactive online sessions and anonymous helplines with the aim of helping young people build resilience and giving them strategies to cope with situations they might be facing.
After a hot and sunny Monday night club run around South Cerney, the cheque was presented to Nia Price from TIC+ by RSE chair Pauline Tilbury and RSE fundraising officer Sarah Page.
Nia explained some of the costs of providing their service, for example each phone call from a distressed young person or carer costs over £7 to administer, so the club’ donations would actively help over 570 people to get the first step in the help they need.
TIC+ can be contacted through nia@ticplus.org.uk for information on how to support their charity.
