A VIBRANT community event had been given a generous donation.
Persimmon Homes Wessex has given with £1,000 to Malmesbury Carnival.
This summer’s Malmesbury Carnival has received a cheque for £1,000 as part of Persimmon Homes Wessex’s Community Champions scheme.
The carnival, which has been running since 1917, consists of a series of events throughout August including live music, food and drink stalls, children’s activities, and the famous Parade.
Malmesbury Carnival relies solely on the support of local volunteers, bringing local villages together to raise thousands of pounds for local causes every year.
In Malmesbury, the Carnival has supported: Malmesbury School and St Josephs Primary; Abbey Little Stars baby and toddler; the Library; HEALS; sports clubs including Marlins and Tennis; Athelstan Players, and Museum; film and history societies; beaver, guide and scout groups.
Plus, many more local causes from across the surrounding villages!
The Community Champions scheme by Persimmon Homes Wessex donates £24,000 each year to community organisations and good causes in the areas it develops.
Malmesbury carnival Co-Chair Paul Overton, thanked Persimmon for the donation saying: “Persimmon’s donation will once again help the carnival to hold a very successful and enjoyable event this summer, supporting the local community and bringing local residents together.”
