A 17-YEAR-OLD from Fairford recently competed in the 2024 World Under 17 Waterski Championships in Canada.

Harrison Crossland - who attends Rendcomb College - secured 18th place in the slalom against tough competition - making him the best performing British athlete in the slalom event. 

Harrison is part of the Team GB squad which also includes 16-year-old Sebastian Turp, 14-year-old Harley Coster, 14-year-old Charlie Fern, 14-year-old James Cosgrove and 12-year-old Isabel Cosgrove.

While there were no medals, the team put in a good set of mid-range scores across the board, securing a solid top 10 finish and 8th place for Team GB.

The competition took place in Calgary, Alberta, between Thursday, August 1 and Sunday, August 4. 

The team flew home on Monday, August 5 and will take a quick rest before flying out to Italy for the U17 & U14 European Water Ski Championships.

It will take place at the Italian National Training Centre in Recetto Wednesday, August 21 to Sunday, August 25. 

The squad for Italy will include the same team including Harrison, Sebastian, Harley, Charlie Isabel who attended the World Championships in Canada.

  • James Cosgrove will attend again as a Wild Card

U14

  • Jimmy Elliot
  • Buddy Carrington
  • Lara Cosgrove will attend as a Wild Card
