A GLORIOUS event celebrating vintage transport and countryside life made a welcome return to South Cerney over the weekend.
The three-day Gloucestershire Vintage and Country Extravaganza took place at South Cerney Airfield site between Friday, August 2 and Sunday, August 4.
This year's event - which is in its 48th year - featured a huge array of vintage transport, from buses and coaches, classic cars and motorcycles all the way through to pushbikes and vintage caravans.
The event's first rally was held on a football pitch in Stonehouse back in 1975.
Rally Chairman Martyn Slater said: "The event has been an annual fixture in the rally calendar since the 1970's.
"Whilst it's evolved over the decades, the mission remains the same: to inform, educate, entertain and celebrate our unique transport history - and it's packed full of exhibits, displays, entertainment and stalls to keep the whole family entertained.
"The event features a vast array of classic transport, bygone skills, agricultural practices and, of course, modern-day restoration and pure grit and determination - the very bedrock that this nation was built upon."
