A WOMAN has been killed in a collision involving a car and motorbike on the B4014 between Tetbury and Malmesbury last night, Wednesday, July 31.
This is the third fatal crash in the area this week as a woman died after a crash in the Barnsley area on Tuesday and a man died after a crash in the Ashton Keynes area on Sunday.
Last night's collision, which involved a Volvo C70 and a Kawasaki ZR motorcycle, happened shortly after 5.30pm close to Long Newnton.
The motorcyclist, a 28-year-old woman from Swindon, was declared dead at the scene. Her next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
The driver of the Volvo, a 78-year-old woman, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where she is being treated for her injuries.
Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and the road will remain closed between Tetbury and Malmesbury for the coming hours.
Anyone with information or who has relevant dashcam footage is asked to come forward.
