A SQUAD of six talented British youngsters - including one from Fairford - is heading to Canada after being selected to compete at the 2024 World Under 17 Waterski Championships.
The competition takes place in Calgary, Alberta, between 1 and 4 August.
The squad is made up of five boys and a girl.
Five of the skiers will form the GB Team and one has been selected as an individual wildcard.
Crossland - a 17 year old from Fairford who attends Rendcomb College in Cirencester - is among the six athletes.
The six are Isabel Cosgrove (12) and her brother James (14) from Chalfont St Peter in Buckinghamshire, Harley Coster (14) from Camberley in Surrey, Charlie Fearn (14) from Sheffield in South Yorkshire, Sebastian Turp (currently 15 but will turn 16 on 23 July) from Gosfield in Essex and Harrison Crossland (17) from Fairford.
James Cosgrove, who goes to Berkhamsted Boys’ School, is the wildcard and will compete in slalom and tricks.
His sister Isabel, known as Issy, will be one of the youngest competitors at the World Championships.
The Berkhamsted Girls’ School pupil is the current British Under 14 Girls’ slalom record holder. She will compete in all three waterski events of slalom, tricks and jump.
Coster (Collingwood College, Camberley), Fearn (Bradfield School, Sheffield) and Turp (Ramsey Academy, Halstead) will also compete in slalom, tricks and jump and Crossland (Rendcomb College, Cirencenster) will compete in slalom and tricks.
