1. Tetfest returns 

The wait for Summer is over as Tetfest, Tetbury’s Fantastic annual live music festival, takes place today, Saturday July 13.

 Gates open midday, and the event ends 11:00pm You will need to purchase a ticket for entry for every person attending.

This year the show consists of Chic To Chic who go to every length to capture the raw funk, soul & disco dynamics of Nile Rodgers' music and bring it to life on stage. Ultimate Elton Some tribute artists look like their idol, some sound like their idol. Paul Bacon as Elton John does both! Close your eyes and you won’t believe your ears, open your eyes and you won’t believe them either!

You simply won’t find a closer tribute to Sir Elton John. Taylor Swift Tribute Act.

All eras of Taylor Swift’s music are covered by Katy Ellis, thus including the development of music genres and vocal evolution in particular.

This seven piece Bristol-based outfit draw inspiration from soul legends and rock titans from the 70s to today, and infuse their music with raw, emotive energy. Archalia. Archalia is a Bristol based cover band playing classics from the 60´s till 2010's with a twist!

And The Soul Destroyers who are a 13 Piece Soul Pop Cheese Funk Groove Party Band Thang Bar, Live Bands, Food stalls, Free Kids Entertainment, Silent Disco. 2. Everything in the Garden 

On Saturday 13th July 2024 at 7:30PM Tetbury Goods Shed are delighted to present Everything in the Garden - Talk and Concert .

An illustrated journey through the history of Painswick Rococo Garden accompanied by a musical programme evoking Everything in the Garden. In his talk, Garden Director Dominic Hamilton will take you on an illustrated journey through the fascinating history and restoration of the garden since the 1740s.

The Every Other Monday Singers are a Stroud-based group of friends who meet for the joy of making music together (every other Monday!). It comprises professional musicians as well as talented amateurs with wide choral experience. The Concert will feature floral-based choral music mainly from the English pastoral tradition, from madrigals to a work that is being composed especially for the concert by the group’s bass, Jonathan Trim, who conducts several local orchestras as well as singing and composing.

Ticket holders for this evening will be entitled to 10% discount on entry to the Rococo Garden. Painswick Rococo Garden (www.rococogarden.org.uk) is a gorgeous Georgian garden squeezed into a hidden valley. 3. Youth string Orchestra Conductor 

Tetbury Good Shed are thrilled to present on Sunday July 14 the Gloucestershire Youth String OrchestraConductor: Nick Steel This is an absolute must-see concert for any aspiring young musicians.

The Gloucestershire Youth String Orchestra (GYSO) is made up of a very talented group of youngsters drawn from across the Gloucestershire schools.

It relaunched in 2018 as a creative outlet for the string section of Glos. Youth Orchestra (GYO) and then, Gloucestershire Intermediate String Ensemble to tackle larger string repertoire and was chosen to perform at Birmingham Town Hall as part of Music for Youth’s National Festival. Notable performances have been Vivaldi Winter at the Pittville Pump Rooms in 2022, Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings at Cheltenham Town Hall in 2020 and Herrmann’s Suite from Pyscho at Iglesia de la Asuncion de Nuestra Senora, Melgar, Spain in 2022.

Tetbury Goods Shed is delighted to be hosting more and more young people’s performances and participatory programmes and this should be a truly inspiring event for children and adults alike. 4. Greening Tetbury holding their AGM 

Following on from a highly successful Great Big Green Week that recently took place during the week of June 8-16. Greening Tetbury are holding their AGM at Christchurch the chipping in the meeting room inThis will take place on the 24th of July for more infomation or if you would like to stand as a trustee please visit the website www.greeningtetbury.org to stand as a trustee you must send an email by the 17th of July

5. Afternoon Music at the Good Shed 

Tetbury Good Shed present, Afternoon Music with Junction 17 Recorders On Wed July 17 at 2.00pm Junction 17 Recorders have been meeting in Hullavington since 2009 under the direction of Peter Cotterill. There can be up to seventeen musicians playing recorders of different sizes (and the occasional crumhorn).

Their repertoire extends from a medieval medley to modern music.

You can enjoy some super music, meet your friends as well as maybe making new ones. Advance tickets are just £3.50 (plus booking fee) Tickets on the door cost £4.00. The Whistle Stop Café will be open if you fancy a nice cup of tea (or coffee) and perhaps one of Sasha’s delicious cakes. 6. Church fete taking place next week 

The St Marys’ Church Fete will take place on Saturday 20th July 2.00 - 4.30 pm in the Vicarage garden.

As well as the delicious homemade Cream Teas, we plan to have book stall, raffle, tombola, face painting, children's games, children's' soft toy tombola, crafts & cards to mention a few.

This of course will Poppys last Fete before she moves on to her new Church so a perfect opportunity to come along and wish her well and say thank you for all the amazing things she has achieved and done for our Town many people whose lives she has touched.

However they need your help to make this Fete a success and raise vital funds for St Marys’ Helpers are needed to set up and take down tables, in the kitchen with the teas Quality items are needed for the stalls! Books, raffle and tombola prizes, sweets for the sweetie jar competition (no chocolate or nuts please), and soft cuddly toys.

These can be put in the chest by the font at the back of church. General offers of help or any queries please speak to Diana Sharp by email office@tetburychurch.co.uk or phone 01666 500088 On Sunday 21st July,there will be a very special benefice service at St Marys’ Church Tetbury at 10.00am as it will be Reverend Canon Poppy Hughes final Tetbury service before she moves to her new parish, so even if you are not a regular regular church attender this would be a lovely way to say thank you to this truly special person who has been a big part of Tetbury for so long. In fact Poppy joined us in September 2013 serving the Tetbury Benefice, Beverston, Long Newton and Shipton Moyne. And she has touched so many peoples lives, with her loving pastoral care that included many activities, from being involved in the Food Bank, through to visits to individuals at home and to Tetbury's care homes.

Her work with children included the monthly iSingPOP CELEBRATE family sessions, St Mary's after-school club Faith Explorers, and Little Fishes Sunday School at the 10.00 am Sunday service in Church. And the "Being With" explorers' course, the "Reflect Women's Breakfasts" and home groups in Advent and Lent.with services that draw in young and old alike: from 300+ people gathering on Remembrance Sunday, to over 600 people sharing in the services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. All are welcome to this service where a presentation will be made. Which will be followed by, at Poppy's request, coffee, cake and fizz in Church afterwards.

7. Dolphins Recreation Centre AGM 

The Dolphins Recreation Centre AGM 2024 will be held on the 25th of July at The Dolphins Hall at 19:30. There will be an election for 6 resident trustees.
