Carnival time was such an exciting part of the Summer when I was a lad in Cirencester, writes Robert Heaven.
There were floats and diplays that processed through the town to Tarbarrow field with fun and entertainments there until late in the evening.
Many sports were played at the Carnival including football and Boxing. High wire acts occurred in the arena sometimes and flaming hoops always featured in some way
