A CLOSED hotel in Gloucestershire has gone on the market.
Specialist hotel property adviser Christie & Co has been instructed to sell Wyck Hill House Hotel near Bourton-on-the-Water alongside real estate services company Savills on behalf of private owners.
According to Christie & Co, the property presents “an ideal opportunity to recreate one of the finest hotels boasting a gateway location to the most desirable parts of the Cotswolds”.
Offers based on a guide price of £10 million are invited for the freehold interest.
According to Christie & Co, the hotel is located in 42 acres of Cotswolds countryside, with outstanding views of the grounds and woodlands.
The heart of the estate is a Grade II-listed country house hotel from the 18th century with 59 bedrooms and spa facilities.
The property also comes with a consented planning permission and listed building consent for external alterations and full refurbishment of the main building, the Coach House and the Orangery.
The website for Wyck Hill House Hotel currently says: “Wyck Hill House is currently closed for an exciting and comprehensive renovation programme.
“Whilst retaining many of the original characters of this amazing building, the new Wyck Hill House will be an oasis of top-class service, best-in-class food, drink and bedroom offerings and a host of sympathetically-blended modern amenities.
“We can’t wait to reintroduce this Cotswolds icon and we will feature updates on our progress on this page.
“We look forward to welcoming you to a reinvigorated Wyck Hill House.
“If in the meantime you have any specific questions about our redevelopment programme or Wyck Hill House in general, please feel free to get in touch with us via email on events@wyckhillhousehotel.co.uk”
Ed Bellfield, regional director at Christie & Co who is handling the sale of Wyck Hill House Hotel, said: “Wyck Hill House Hotel offers an exciting opportunity for an imaginative buyer to become the latest custodian of one of the Cotswolds’ renowned hotel businesses.
“It is rare that a property of this magnitude, in such a desirable location, comes to the open market.
“The range of development opportunities presents exciting potential for a new owner to improve the hotel facilities and create a destination venue of scale and character, within easy reach of London, Bristol and Birmingham.”
James Greenslade, director at Savills, added: “We expect to see interest from a range of potential purchasers who will be attracted by the scale of the opportunity, its accessible location and its proximity to the popular Cotswold [locations] of Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold.”
