AN EVENT to mark D-Day 80 will take place at a former RAF station this week.
The event, taking place on Wednesday at RAF Down Ampney, will feature a service of commemoration, military vehicles, Cirencester’s town band and a sunset ceremony.
There will also be an RAF Down Ampney exhibition, the Cirencester Town Crier, catering outlets and a beer tent.
The event begins at 7.30pm, though gates open at 6.30pm.
Attendees should go to the Bidwells/Farmcare entrance of the site.
Limited tickets cost £5 each and are available from the Down Ampney Fundraising Group.
