AN iconic country pub in the area which has been left derelict for years is up for sale.
The Wild Duck Inn at Ewen near Kemble is currently being sold by a private buyer through estate agents Savills.
The 16th-century boozer - which is a grade II listed building and closed in 2019 - even features a unique flying duck clock.
Over the years guests have included many celebrities as well as members of the Royal family including Princess Anne.
Co-founder of fashion label Superdry Julian Dunkerton previously bought the pub in 2015.
The pub itself also features an original sign painted by WWT founder Sir Peter Scott.
Savills says the property includes a site of 0.53 acres, is arranged over a ground, first and second floor, extending to approximately 5,200 square feet.
They say the property was previously granted planning permission which could almost double its size adding 19 en suite bedrooms.
Paul Breen, director in the licensed & leisure team at Savills, said: “Properties like The Wild Duck pub very rarely ever come to the market.
“We expect strong demand from businesses seeking to restore it to its former glory and elevate it further by implementing the recently secured planning permission.
“We expect it will have a huge appeal to a broad range of potential buyers.”
The pub was previously listed as a finalist in the Wilts and Glos Standard’s Pub of the Year competition in 2015.
