CIRENCESTER Town Council has a vacancy for a councillor for the Abbey Ward.

The role is open to anyone over 18 who is a British or Commonwealth citizen, is registered to vote in Cirencester or has lived, worked or owned a property in Cirencester for at least 12 months.

There are around 40 meetings per year, depending on the committees a councillor chooses to serve on, and the post-holder will be expected to represent their ward and the local community.

Training and development are provided and certain expenses can be claimed, though there is no allowance.

If you are interested, send a letter or email to chief executive Andrew Tubb, at andrew@cirencester.gov.uk, or by hand via the Local Information Centre at Bingham House, outlining your reasons for wanting to be a town councillor and the difference you would like to make.
