PUBS in the Cotswolds are looking forward to the summer after having good business during the recent mini heatwave.
The hot weather has resulted in a boom in trade for local pubs as locals and tourists swoop into the area to bask in the sunshine.
Becky Hill, landlady at The Golden Ball Inn in Lower Swell, said: "We were closed on Monday, but last week we were absolutely rammed.
"We had lots of people eating outside and we had a huge increase in walkers which brought business up.
"There was a really good mixture of people, rain makes all the difference and we are really looking forward to some good weather in summer.
"The beer garden was pretty much full and lots of people brought their dogs to enjoy the weather.
"Lots of people were visiting the Cotswolds and because of how busy Stow was, we had a lot of people visit us as well."
Weather across last week was dry throughout and peaked at 25 degrees C.
Paul Harris, front of house manager for the Redesdale Arms in Moreton, said: "We have been pretty busy and we are fully booked all weekend.
"We are one of the lucky few who work with a lot of local companies, such as walking tours and the fire college who send us a lot a business, so we tend to be full anyway.
"This week we have had a lot of tourism from abroad as well as a few in country tourists."
John Longbottom, landlord at The Bell in Moreton, said: "Overall its been quite quietish this weekend in Moreton but I think that there were a couple of events going on in town.
"Business was steady but it was the weekend after the bank holiday and we had hoped to be busier.
"We have got no concerns about the summer as when the weather is nice, we go from a 60 seat pub to a 160 seat pub."
