A LORRY fire on the A417 near the Air Balloon Roundabout has caused long delays for commuters this morning.
While the emergency services were at the scene, the A417 between the A429 (Cirencester) and A436 (Air Balloon Roundabout) was closed in both directions earlier this morning, Tuesday, May 7.
The road has now reopened in both directions but one lane closure remains in place so that the destroyed lorry can be recovered.
National Highways has advised motorists to leave early to allow extra time for their journeys due to the delays.
A spokesperson for National Highways South West said: "The A417 has now reopened in both directions between the A429 (#Cirencester) and A436 (#AirBalloonRoundabout).
"A lane one closure remains in place northbound for recovery and clear up.
"Please allow extra journey time if in the area."
