COMMUTERS have been stuck in long queues of traffic near the Air Balloon roundabout this morning after an Asda delivery van caught fire.
The above picture shows the huge flames which destroyed the vehicle.
The fire service was called to the scene at 7.53am this morning, Monday, April 29 and extinguished the blaze.
A spokesperson for GCC said: "Two fire engines were sent from Gloucester North and Cheltenham East, to deal with a delivery van which was on fire.
"Crews used one hose reel and two sets of breathing apparatus to put it out.
"The van was 100 per cent damaged by fire and there were no injuries.
"The stop time was 8.54am."
National Highways has just released the following update about the traffic delays: "Traffic has been released on the A417 in Gloucestershire southbound between the A46 Brockworth and A436 Air Balloon Roundabout.
"Lane 1 of 2 remains closed northbound between the A436 and A46.
"Delays remain on approach, please allow extra time for your journey."
