HUNGRY guests beelined to a brand-new restaurant in Cirencester to try some delicious South Indian delicacies last week.
Dosa Park Cirencester hosted a launch party on Thursday evening, April 18 to mark the Oxford-based business' first venture in Gloucestershire.
Co-owner Omer Rahim says they have spent the last 15 years laser-focused on building a strong kitchen team in Oxford and are now ready to expand to different parts of the country.
Keen to open a restaurant in the Cotswolds, Mr Rahim has spent the last few years searching for the perfect premises and 29 Sheep Street in Cirencester - formerly Spanish eatery Tierra and Mar - ticked all the boxes.
He is excited to show Cirencester residents and visitors a range of authentic South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, vadas and biryanis.
The brand is known for its delicious dosas, thin savoury crepe which are made from a fermented batter of ground white gram and rice.
They are served hot, often with chutney and sambar.
At the launch party, Mr Rahim said: "We are so excited to show the people of Cirencester our dosas.
"At a recent tasting, everyone said they had never tried dosas before and were blown away by them.
"We want to provide our customers with a South Indian experience and make a difference with our hospitality and can-do attitude.
"We have received a huge welcome from the community.
"Lots of people have walked passed and knocked on our door saying that they are glad that Dosa Park is coming to Cirencester.
"Many people have been going all the way to Swindon and Oxford to eat dosas, but now they don't have to travel and can eat it here in Cirencester.
"In the future we would like to expand the business, and have had some interest in opening a restaurant in Worcestershire.
"We have been laser-focused in getting the business' foundation right for the last few years, which should make it easier for us to scale up."
Dosa Park Cirencester is open six days a week (everyday but Tuesday) between 12pm and 10pm, apart from Sunday which closes at 9pm.
