STAFF at a stunning Georgian coaching inn in Wiltshire have been celebrating after finding out that their gastropub won a prestigious award.

The Methuen Arms in Corsham - which is managed by Butcombe Pubs & Inns - was named the best pub in Wiltshire at this year’s National Pub & Bar Awards.

This cosy country pub offers award-winning food, Butcombe beer on tap and a choice of 19 boutique bedrooms to stay at.

It is situated next to the stately home and beautiful grounds of Corsham Court and currently has a four out of five rating on Tripadvisor.

Judges praised the high street venue for 'demonstrating excellence' across several elements during their visit, including design, service, food and drink, style of offer, marketing and investment.

Samantha Kramer, general manager at The Methuen Arms, said: “We’re thrilled to have won the award for the best pub in Wiltshire.

"We all work so hard to give our valued guests the very best food, drink and hospitality experience when they visit us, so to be recognised at these prestigious awards means the world to us all!”

Tristan O’Hana, one of the judges at National Pub & Bar Awards, said: “The fact that we had record entries for the 2024 National Pub and Bar Awards tells us how highly the industry regards these accolades, which is fantastic."

Each year the competition crowns county winners from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, giving each site a unique platform to promote themselves and increase guest footfall from locals and visitors alike.

All the county winners will come together at the National Pub & Bar Awards Grand Final at 30 Euston Square, London on Wednesday, June 26 where the Pub Group of the Year, Bar Group of the Year and the overall National Pub & Bar of the Year will be announced.
